I thought of all those people who, in some tragic way, this one man had brought together – prosecutors, investigators, victims, witnesses, families, government officials, diplomats, activists, and even the press – and who I knew would also pause and smile, as their collective belief in justice was renewed, and for some, even restored.

It is not often when one man is able to unite officials on both sides of the Atlantic – to work together – with common cause and devotion, for years.
